Custom software

Custom software, built around how you work

From one workflow that runs on its own to a platform for your clients or your staff. You don't need a website from me to start.

Not sure where to start?

Answer a few quick questions and see what I'd recommend for your business, with a starting price.

Find the right service

What it does

The jobs your business repeats, done for you

If your team does it every week, it can probably run on its own. A few of the things custom software can take off your plate:

Quotes and estimates

Customers answer a few questions, add photos and see a price range. You get a clean summary.

Bookings and scheduling

Free dates shown, requests held for you to confirm, reminders sent without you.

Staff and HR

Schedules, time off, onboarding checklists and training in one place your team can use.

Orders, stock and shipping

Orders tracked from sale to doorstep, stock counts that stay right, labels without retyping.

Paperwork and invoices

A signed quote becomes an invoice, and every document files itself where it belongs.

Reviews and follow-ups

Customers asked politely for a review after the job, with no one having to remember.

Client and staff portals

A private place for clients to see their jobs, or for staff to run their day.

Connecting your tools

Your accounting, calendar, email and spreadsheets passing details along, so nobody copies them by hand.

Have you ever wished…

  • a quote request arrived with photos, so you could price the job without driving out first?
  • your calendar showed customers which dates are free, and held one for you to confirm?
  • every customer got a polite review request after the job, without you having to remember?
  • a signed quote turned straight into an invoice, and the paperwork filed itself?
  • your team's schedules, orders or shipping lived in one place, not in five spreadsheets?
  • a new hire's paperwork, training and accounts came together from one checklist?
  • your stock list updated your website the moment you changed it?
  • your tools talked to each other, instead of you copying the same details from app to app?

How it works

See one working

Here's one, in four steps. Open the full system to see every step, who does what, and what it runs on.

For example, a quote request:

  1. A customer asksThey pick the job on your site and see a starting price.
  2. They add photosNow, or later from the job, with a private link.
  3. You get the job, readyThe address, the photos and the price, in your inbox.
  4. They're thankedA confirmation goes out on its own.

Price finder

Built and in use

What happens

They tap the job they need, or search for it, and see its starting price straight away. Google suggests the address as they type. If suggestions are off, a plain box still works, and the town sets the travel zone.

Under the hood

  • Prices from your own price list
  • Google Places address lookup, asked by the server
  • Daily lookup limits
  • Cloudflare Pages Functions

What custom means

Real software, not a rented automation

It's real software, written for your business: not an app you rent and pay for by the task.

Built for your business, not bent to fit it

Not an app you rent and work around. Built around how you already work, and connected to the tools you use.

I can build something fully custom, or start from proven open-source software and customize it around how you work. Building on what already works means you're not paying for anything to be written from scratch, so it costs you less. I'll tell you which fits, and why.

What's under the hood

Written in code for your business

Real code (JavaScript and Python), built for how you work, including the parts a drag-and-drop tool can't do.

Your own database and storage

An SQL database for your records and private, S3-compatible cloud storage for files and photos.

Direct connections

It talks to your other tools through their APIs, so details move by themselves and nothing is copied twice.

Runs on proven cloud infrastructure

On fast, secure cloud servers, not inside another company's automation plan or its task limits.

Already paying for a platform, or interested in one? I can use that too. Just say so.

AI, where it earns its place

The thing you wish your business could do is probably buildable

Quotes drafted from your job notes, texts answered with replies you've approved while you're up on a roof, listings written from a photo: if you've wished for something like that, it can probably be built. Some of it uses AI, most of it is plain, dependable software. I build whichever works, and you stay in charge.

A few things I've built

Reading a piece from its photos

In an inventory system for one-of-a-kind stock, AI reads each piece's labels and codes from the phone photos and drafts its record. The owner approves it.

Prices from real sales

AI picks out what the same model actually sold for, a second check goes over the high-value pieces, and every price shows its evidence.

Photo clean-up that never redraws the item

A vision model evens out the background and the light, and never redraws the piece itself.

An assistant I message from my phone

For my photography business, it keeps projects and decisions in order, and asks before it changes anything important.

Could be built for you

  • Snap it, list it: photograph a piece, and get a drafted record to check
  • What is it really worth? Prices from real sales, graded by how solid the evidence is
  • A ranked list of customers worth approaching, with the reasons for each
  • Text your business: an assistant on your phone that asks before it acts
  • Paperwork read into your records: labels, slips and serial plates turned into fields you confirm

When I build AI into a system, it does the reading and the first draft. Plain code does the measuring, a check goes over the AI's work, and nothing goes out until you approve it. Most of what I build has no AI in it at all: a price list, a booking flow or a signing page should do exactly the same thing every time.

Prices

Start small, or start big

Every price is a starting point before tax. Your quote states the actual price before any work starts.

Already working with me? A workflow added to a system we're building or running together can cost far less. The starting prices below cover building from nothing: a new database, cloud hosting and connections to the tools you use.

How I work

Built in small releases, with you in the loop

I work in releases. You plan each one with me and approve the design before I build it out. Once it's live, your feedback and real results shape the next one.

  • A simple website is usually one release. A platform is several, each live and useful before the next begins.
  • Each release is planned and priced on its own, so you only commit to the next one.
